SSAX, Remote ATEX Sensor Head

The ATEX sensor head for remote applications.

In addition to the high-quality sensor element and the measuring amplifier, the SSAX sensor head includes a μController for processing the measured values. All relevant data and measured values from the sensor element are stored in the µController in a fail-safe manner and are transmitted digitally via the local bus to the WSB/MSC or PX. Calibration management is also integrated in the µController of the sensor head. Calibration can be carried out by simply changing the sensor head or by using the integrated, convenient calibration routine directly on the system.

The SSAX is connected directly to the PX and can therefore be used as a complete device in the ATEX zone. In addition, the ATEX-certified SSAX sensor head can also be used on its own in the hazardous area with the corresponding ATEX cable connected to WSB/MSC or PX (which are installed outside the hazardous area) in order to evaluate the sensor there.
