22 January 2025 – Low range color measurement in clean or drinking water analysis normally requires different to high range color measurement typically used in surface water or wastewater analysis. This is because the requirement of color analysis in Indonesia is 10 TCU (total color unit, equal to Hazen or mg/L Pt-Co) for drinking water and 10 TCU for water for sanitary hygiene purpose. (The World Health Organization recommends that drinking water color does not exceed 10 true color units) . The low ranges in drinking water can only be measured accurately, if we use longer pathlengths, 100 mm or better 150mm.
